Three quarters of a century after the ignition of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the situation in the Near East is seemingly at its worst. Since Hamas launched its bloodiest assault ever on the vicinity of the Gaza Strip on 7 October 2023, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been responding with a large-scale destructive offensive inside the enclave. At a time when both protagonists seem eager to consolidate their achievements on the battlefield, this e-Note explores what the future may look like for Palestine after this devastating war. (A subsequent e-Note will reverse the question and look into the future perspectives for Israel.)
